A perfect example of the good-bad movie, Seventh Son features performances from Julianne Moore and Jeff Bridges which relate more to local pantomime than to winning awards, commanding the attention for all the wrong reasons. She plays a slatternly witch who can morph into a deadly dragon, he plays a ridiculous monk who is hot on her tail, but encumbered with a novice apprentice. Littered with strange infelicities, including Moore cattily remarking to rival Alicia Vikander ‘I like your shoes.’ Seventh Son is old-school nonsense of a most enjoyable order.
